Moffitt Plans Medical Air Transport Bill for Next Session
The 97th General Assembly in Illinois will be sworn in next week and local Republican state Representative Don Moffitt is already planning for it.

Moffitt tells WGIL he will be attempting to get some bills passed during session that include strengthening safety measures for medical transports.

Air or helicopter pilots and personnel would have stricter regulations to follow says Moffitt.

"Working with the Department of Public Health they would like to look at it, and we'll have all parties at the table, look at setting the protocols for the helicopter transport, the air transport,.. setting some guidelines to try to improve public safety, safety of the crew, safety of anyone they're transporting around the nation, several choppers have gone down in the last year or two, the Department of Public Health would like to look at some standards of what we could do to make it even safer."

Moffitt adds that he will continue to work for fire protection districts, a sort of pet project for him.
