Lincoln Library Foundation Taps Veteran Fundraiser
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- A 28 year veteran of work in the non-profit sector has been named the new chief executive officer for the Abraham Lincoln Library Foundation.

Carla Knorowski has recently served as vice president for institutional advancement at Northeastern Illinois University and was executive director of the school's foundation.

She will be responsible for management and strategic planning of the foundation. It was created in 2000 to support the Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum in Springfield.

She will oversee a staff of 11 in Springfield.
Foundation board chairman Wayne Whalen says Knorowski has "energy, wisdom and experience."

He says that will be crucial to the foundation as it commemorates the 150th anniversaries of Lincoln's presidency and the Civil War, starting this year and lasting through 2015.
