Race for Chicago Mayor Enters Next Phase
CHICAGO (AP) -- The race for Chicago mayor has entered its next phase now that the Illinois Supreme Court has reinstated Rahm Emanuel on the ballot.

Most of the major candidates campaigned Friday as the race turned back to city issues now that the residency challenge of Emanuel is resolved.

Emanuel was at Chicago's gay community center where leaders launched a committee to back his bid. He also did some explaining about what services he'd want to see
covered if the sales tax rate was cut but the base expanded.

Opponent Gery Chico attacked the ``Rahm tax'' at a South Side barber shop. Emanuel said haircuts wouldn't be a service he'd want to see taxed.

City Clerk Miguel del Valle greeted voters at a deli that is a popular spot with politicians.
