Quinn Names New Office Communication Director
CHICAGO (AP) -- Governor Pat Quinn's administration is getting a new director of communications.

Quinn's office says his campaign spokeswoman in November's gubernatorial election, Mica Matsoff, will now take over the top communications post in his administration.

Previously, Matsoff worked as director of public relations for Chicago's ultimately failed bid to host the 2016 Olympic Games. Earlier, she also spent several years at the Edelman public relations company.

Stepping into her new job as the governor's communications director, Matsoff replaces Ashley Cross. A Tuesday statement from Quinn's office says Cross will soon become the chief of staff at the Illinois Department of Juvenile Justice.
