One of Six Robbery Suspects Makes Court Appearance
FIRST REPORTED 12:00pm 1/5/11 One of six people arrested and accused of one of 18 armed robberies committed last year in Galesburg has completed his first appearance in court.

18 year old Jekorey Green of Detroit, Michigan, was in Knox County Circuit Court Wednesday morning with his appointed public defender, Tom Pepmeyer, after the hearing was continued last week while Pepmeyer was on vacation.

Green was arrested in late December on a Class-X felony charge of armed robbery, suspected of helping steal money from the Grand Liquor store December 20th.

Judge Scott Shiplett set a preliminary hearing date of January 18th for Green, the same day the other five will be in court for theirs.

Police arrested Green, 21 year old Byan Vann, 20 year old Searcy Boyd, 17 year old Seville Boyd, all of Galesburg and 20 year old Albert Prater and 17 year old Shane Tatum, both of Skokie, after executing a search warrant on Vann's West Berrien Street home, and officials say they could be behind at least some of the 18 armed robberies that occurred last year.

Each has a separate public defender, and all are being held at the Knox County Jail.
