Woman Teacher Accused of Sex with 16 Year Old Boy
PLAINFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Police and school district officials in Plainfield say a 27 year old physical education teacher from Plainfield North High School was arrested after she allegedly had sex with a 16 year old male student.

Plainfield Police Chief Bill Doster tells the (Joliet) Herald-News officers arrested Ashley Blumenshine of Lisle after seeing her with the student in a parked car behind a Kohl's store on Tuesday.

Blumenshine was released on bond late Wednesday from the Will County Adult Detention Center on a charge of criminal sexual abuse. She did not talk with reporters.

Plainfield School District 202 spokesman Tom Hernandez says Blumenshine has taught physical education and dance in the district since 2006.

He says a substitute teacher will assume Blumenshine's teaching duties for the time being.
