Kirk on Health Repeal
(IRN)-Repealing health care reform is a popular concept with the Republican majority in the U.S. House of Representatives, but in the Senate it'll be another story.

U.S. Senator Mark S. Kirk says he's a repealer. "Absolutely. I will vote for repeal," he said.

But Senator Dick Durbin says he should be careful. "Does he want to repeal the $250 check that senior citizens received for Medicare prescription Part D? Does he want to repeal the protection we've now put into law that you can't discriminate against children because of pre-existing medical conditions?"

Kirk says health care reform will be costly to Illinois hospitals. He says a repeal vote will take place in the Senate, but he doubts it'll succeed with Republicans in the minority.

Durbin says the law is imperfect, but it will survive one people realize how much they benefit from it.

The House is scheduled to vote Wednesday on repeal.
