Quinn, IL Officers Attend Interfaith Service
Springfield, Ill. (AP) -- Illinois' constitutional officers are at a Springfield church for an interfaith prayer service before inauguration ceremonies.

Governor Pat Quinn, his new Lt. Gov. Sheila Simon and the state's other top elected officials are at the First Presbyterian Church in Springfield Monday morning.

A plaque outside the church says the sanctuary houses the original pew of the Abraham Lincoln family.

After church the officials, including Attorney General Lisa Madigan, Secretary of State Jesse White, Treasurer Dan Rutherford and Comptroller Judy Baar Topinka, will be sworn in at a nearby convention center.

The inauguration happens as lawmakers are trying to pass a hefty income tax increase to fix the state budget that could have a deficit as high as $15 billion.
