Denial of Prison Release for Man Considered Sexually Dangerous
A Galesburg man who's been in prison since 1995 after allegedly molesting boys and allegedly paying one of them for sexual favors has once again claimed he should get out of prison.

74-year old Robert Allensworth was in Knox County Circuit Court Wednesday on a petition he filed back in October urging his release.

Like the other times he's asked to be released, he claims he is recovered, that the court system is protecting what he calls liars, and that some of the facts of his situations are being hidden.

Allensworth represented himself at the hearing. But as he continued to speak in court, Judge Scott Shiplett interrupted Allensworh saying his petition is being denied.

After Allensworth's 1995 conviction and one earlier in the decade, a judge found him to be a sexually dangerous person, which requires an indefinite prison sentence until he is deemed recovered.

Allensworth has claimed that some boys he is alleged to have molested actually molested him, and that they operated a video camera to record the acts, not him, and that they told him the camera wasn't working.

Allensworth can petition the court again in six months if he chooses.
