Winter Conditions Claim one Life, Injure Two Others on Fulton County Roads
Fulton County Sheriffs Deputies say a 56-year-old Ellisville man crashed his vehicle and died Thursday morning, while two others were hospitalized in an unrelated accident.

The county coroner pronounced Greg Chatterton dead at the scene of County Highway 2, just south of highway 17, prior to 7am. Sheriffs Deputies say the slick roads may have played a factor in the single vehicle crash.

According to the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, London Mills Fire, Fairview Fire, and the Fulton County EMS responded to the initial call to the sheriffs department at 6:22am.

Deputies say around 8am they responded to an overturned vehicle in rural Ipava. They say the 47-year-old woman inside was unharmed, but the wrecker in route was involved in a two vehicle crash on US Highway 24.

A release from the Fulton County Sheriff's office indicates both drivers were taken to area hospitals for treatment. The extent of their injuries are unknown at this time. Illinois State Troopers, Astoria Fire and Rescue, and Fulton County EMS aided in that crash.

Authorities advise everyone to use extreme caution when driving during snowy conditions.
