Police Seize Two and a Half Pounds of Pot at Amtrak Depot
Police say a Bloomington man stepped off from an Amtrak train Monday afternoon in Galesburg allegedly hauling two and a half pounds of pot inside a video game console package.

Galesburg Police arrested 31-year-old Loren Langley on possession of cannabis over 500 grams and possession with the intent to deliver cannabis between 500 and 2000 grams. A police report indicates a total of 1,040 grams of suspected marijuana and an additional 20 grams of hash was seized from a Playstation 3 box-- this after a K-9 unit signaled a positive alert on the bag it was in.

Police say Langley exited the arriving train from California around 12:15pm and avoided eye contact with authorities upon reaching the platform. They say he bumped into others while attempting to distance himself from police.

According to reports, Langley told police he was to deliver the package to another man in Bloomington. He told police the man he was staying with in California would pay him once the drop was complete.

Authorities say Langley offered to cooperate by participating in a controlled delivery of the cannabis to the intended subject in Bloomington. They say a Drug Task Force was contacted, but the delivery was never attempted.

Langley is being held in Knox County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
