Galesburg Man Arrested for Threatening Family with Tire Iron
A Galesburg man police say who was removed by family members after a dispute late New Years Day on the city's east side returned to allegedly threaten his uncles with a tire iron.

Police reports indicate 27-year-old Blake Hans is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Police say they arrested him when he returned to 440 South Whitesboro Street just after midnight Monday morning.

Records show police initially visited Hans at his East Berrien Street home following complaints of the earlier physical altercation he allegedly had with his uncles while watching football.

Police say Hans claimed one of his uncles punched him under his left eye. Authorities advised him to stay home, and that he could be arrested for fighting if he was equally involved.

According to police, family members reported a couple of hours later Hans was back outside the South Whitesboro address issuing threats with a firearm. Police say they instead found a tire iron inside Hans' left sleeve.

In addition to the aggravated assault charge, Police say they're charging him with possession of cannabis after discovering four-point-four grams of a green organic plant matter on him. It later tested positive for marijuana.

Hans was booked at the Knox County Jail and is awaiting a court hearing.
