Knox International Student Recognizes U.S. As Like No Other
It was a day where diversity ruled on the campus of Knox College, and no one dared to step between.

The 31st Annual International Fair on Saturday featured a diverse lunch buffet, international booth viewing, the parade of flags, and other student performances.

International Club Executive member Yumma Rathor, moved about a hand full of countries growing up-- struggling with fitting in. Once in the U-S, she tells WGIL the 'meshing' of cultures was almost instinctive.

"Color wise, skin tone wise, accent wise, there's just so much diversity, you don't see that in Europe," she said. "I had a horrible experience there, you don't see that in places like that, because you feel like the minority. Over here, you don't feel like the minority, they cannot tell that I'm not a U.S. citizen, they don't ask that, they don't treat me differently."

Obviously there I've never faced any racism here; none in Galesburg, none in my school.

Late Saturday afternoon, Rathor and seven others performed a dance highlighting hip hop and South Asian steps.

According to the National Liberal Arts Colleges, Knox College became the 28th "Most International" liberal arts school in the country at the turn of the new year.
