Air Conditioning No Longer Top Priority for Knoxville School
FIRST REPORTED 6:30am 1/8/12 Air conditioning might not be at the top of the priority list after all for one Knoxville school.

The District-202 Board Saturday toured Mabel Woolsey Elementary School, after a somewhat heated discussion took place a few weeks ago about putting air conditioning in the older section of the school.

District-202 board president Bob Bogard tells WGIL a perhaps more important issue was learned about during the tour.

"It's a sewer line. The drainage system is not functioning; we have no drainage at all in the kitchen areas," Bogard said. "So, we've got to get that corrected and find out how much it's going to cost."

No word yet on what that might be. Some board members wondered if the line could be run a different way in order to solve the problem, but that might mean having to work with the City of Knoxville to make that happen.

Bogard says some see the second biggest issue as storage, though he says that's been somewhat solved, as hallways no longer are the storage areas.

Bogard says the board will prioritize needs for Mabel Woolsey soon. They meet Wednesday evening for a board retreat.
