Two Arrested, Bond Set, in Suspected December Home Invasion in Galesburg
Police say over the weekend they arrested two Galesburg men suspected of invading a north side home dressed in suits almost a month ago.

They say 35-year-old Heath Williams and 57-year-old Charles Williams were taken into custody early Sunday on warrants filed for home invasion. According to a police report, both men allegedly entered 1595 Bateman Street with others on December 12th and battered an elderly man before ransacking his home.

The homeowner suffered only minor injuries. He reportedly told police Heath Williams blamed him for the death of his brother a week earlier.

Knox County Circuit Court Records indicate bond was set at $100,000-dollars for both Heath and Charles Williams. Earlier Monday, Public Defenders James Harrell and Karl Johnson were appointed by a judge to each, respectively.

The two men will make their first appearances with each public defender later this week. They face charges of home invasion, criminal trespassing, and battery.

Heath Williams faces an additional charge of resisting arrest after he failed to cooperate with police Sunday morning. Police say they received an anonymous tip that he was staying at his mother's Monroe Street home.
