New School District Coming Along
District 276 is making significant progress in the effort to have the new school district up and running by July 1, 2013.

School board members met Thursday night to go over a rather light agenda with some important topics.

Board President Sherry Lomax tells WGIL the districts pieces of the giant puzzle are starting to come together.

"Joint faculties have been working on curriculum and they submitted to us their course descriptions and what they'd like for the curriculum for the coming year."

Lomax says the boards very excited to see the district start taking shape.

She says the board was not able to vote on the curriculum last night because a vote was not on the agenda.

The board should vote on that measure at their next meeting.

Lomax also say the board will also be choosing a name for the district at the next meeting as well as the top four colors and mascots submitted by students.
