Police Release Official Details into Sunday Stabbing Death
UPDATED 12:45pm 1/21/13 Galesburg Police have officially released their findings into a stabbing incident Sunday that left one man dead and one man in jail.

Police officials say officers responded around 12:30 Sunday morning to 18 Chestnut Street to a report of a disturbance, and found a man suffering from what they say were multiple stab wounds.

Officers say that man -- 23-year old Robert Kilgore -- was taken first to Galesburg Cottage Hospital, and later to OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria. They say the Peoria County Coroner pronounced Kilgore dead about 10 hours after the incident.

Police arrested 25-year old Kai Lefler of Oneida at a Lake Street home, and was charged with First-Degree Murder and Aggravated Battery. He's being held in the Knox County Jail pending future court dates.

Officers say their investigation into the Sunday morning incident is continuing.

A funeral for Kilgore is being held Friday at 10 am at Hinchliff-Pearson-West in Galesburg, with a visitation at the funeral home the day before from 4pm to 7pm.
