Plea in October 2008 Burglary Case
A Galesburg woman is a free woman after pleading guilty to her role in an alleged burglary spree.

Knox County Courthouse records indicate 21-year old Jennifer Niles pleaded guilty Wednesday to three counts of theft -- and in exchange, about two-dozen other burglary counts were dropped.

Niles and 19-year old Ricky Niswonger were arrested in late-October by Galesburg Police -- after, they say, two-thousand dollars worth of stolen property was believed to have been found in the home they and another man lived in on North Cedar Street in the three-hundred block. Officials said the alleged burglaries had occurred over that past month in Galesburg, but didn't specify where.

As part of the plea deal, Niles was sentenced to 180-days in the Knox County Jail with credit for all 180 already served, along with four-years of probation. She and Niswonger have been ordered to make eight-thousand dollars in restitution.

Niswonger pleaded guilty January 15th to three-counts of burglary, and was sentenced to four-years in prison. A dozen or so other burglary counts were also dropped.
