Schock Votes Against Stimulus Bill Again
Even though President Obama called him out during his East Peoria visit, U.S. Rep. Aaron Schock (R-Peoria) was not eager to sign on to the latest stimulus bill.

Schock, who accompanied Obama on Air Force One on Thursday, says the two most important ingredients in such a bill should be "first, spending on infrastructure that will immediately create jobs and have tangible assets, when the economy turns around, that we can point to. No. 2 are tax cuts targeted at individuals and small businesses who create jobs that incentivize entrepeneurialship, risk-taking, and investment."

Obama told the crowd at a Caterpillar plant in East Peoria Thursday that Schock, whose district covers a portion of Knox County, should have a more cooperative spirit, in the mold of former Peoria congressmen Ray LaHood and Bob Michel.

Schock voted against the stimulus bill, which was approved largely on party lines in both chambers of Congress Friday. It's not known when President Obama will sign the bill into law.
