Gov. Quinn in Washington Talking Stimulus
Gov. Pat Quinn is in Washington Tuesday, meeting with White House officials members of the Illinois congressional delegation as the Senate debates the economic stimulus program.

Quinn is pitching for Illinois to get a big chunk of stimulus funding for public works projects.

Quinn's predecessor as governor would fly to Washington on a state plane. Quinn is traveling on United, and sitting in coach.

Quinn has been meeting with other politicians around the state too, including the mayors of Peoria and Chicago, with meetings upcoming with the mayors of Rock Island, Rockford and mayors in Southern Illinois .

On Monday in Chicago, the governor said he supports Chicago's bid for the 2016 Olympics. The state will be expected to commit $150 million as a guarantee against losses, but Quinn says he's confident the Olympics will make a profit.

Chicago is one of four finalists being considered for the Olympics. A decision will be made in October.
