Bond Reduced for Galesburg Resident Facing Felony Sex Charge
A Galesburg teenager has a better chance of being released from custody after being arrested and accused of having improper sexual contact with a young boy.

18-year old Nicholas Grady was in Knox County Circuit Court earlier this week for a Preliminary Hearing on a charge of Criminal Sexual Abuse. Grady, through public defender Karl Johnson, waived his right to a preliminary hearing, pleaded not guilty, and asked for a trial by jury.

Grady was also granted a bond reduction down to ten-thousand dollars, meaning he must post one-thousand in order to be released from custody. As part of the bond reduction, Judge Dwayne Morrison ordered that Grady have no contact with anyone under the age of 18, but that he could live with his mother in Rock Island.

Grady was arrested February fourth, when police say he was caught in a bedroom at a West Main Street home with a three-year old boy, both of whom had their pants down. He claimed he boy spilled water on the two of them, and that the two were changing. A police report claims, however, Grady admitted to abusing the boy during an interrogation.

Grady is also scheduled to undergo mental health counseling once he's released.
