Two Arrested After Suspected Meth Lab Discovered In Garage
updated 9:17 a-m, 2/21/9 A search warrant executed at a Galesburg residence resulted in the discovery of a suspected active meth lab and two arrests.

Galesburg police say local officers and authorities from the Multi-County Narcotics Enforcement Group located the meth lab in the garage at 575 East Second Street around 11:30 Friday morning. Officials say the Statewide Meth Taskforce was called in to clean up the site.

Police identified the two people who were arrested at the time the search warrant was executed as 45-year old Lonnie Hoots and 42-year old Traci Ryner, both residents of 575 East Second Street.

Hoots is facing a preliminary charge of aggravated participation in methamphetamine manufacturing over 400 grams. Officers also learned he was wanted on a Knox County warrant alleging he failed to appear in court for a previous DUI charge. Ryner was arrested for permitting the unlawful use of a building.

Ryner was released from custody with a notice to appear in court. Hoots remains in the Knox County Jail awaiting a bond hearing.
