Durbin: Burris Should Resign
U.S. Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.) says he'll continue to work with U.S. Sen. Roland W. Burris (D-Ill.) for the good of Illinois, despite feeling that Burris should resign.

Durbin met with Burris Tuesday in Washington, and afterward said that the two will find ways to cooperate. Durbin had suggested to Burris that he consider stepping down, but Burris is refusing to resign and won't say whether he'll run for the seat in 2010.

Burris refused to comment after meeting with Durbin.

Burris is facing calls for his resignation after he acknowledged trying to raise money for ex-Gov. Rod Blagojevich, and for not telling the whole truth about it when he testified to state lawmakers last month. Burris has said he did nothing improper.
