Man Faces Felony Sex Charge
A Galesburg man has been arrested and charged with a felony after allegedly having inappropriate contact with a child.

Police reports indicate officers responded Wednesday to a residence in the 12-hundred block of West Main Street in reference to a suspicious incident with a child.

Police say 2 residents of the home were watching their 3-year old cousin. A female at the residence told police after a rest she went to check on her 18-year old brother Nicholas Grady who was with the child. When she approached the room, she says the door was slammed shut before she got there. The woman then opened the bedroom to to allegedly see the young boy with his pants down, while her brother ducked behind a door whom she alleged was attempting to pull up his pants. The woman then notified police.

Police spoke with Grady who told them he had been in the room with the young boy and the child had spilled water on the two of them. Grady allegedly told police he was in the process of changing and didn't want to expose himself to his sister which is why he shut the door. Grady was then transported to Police Headquarters where he, according to police reports, confessed to investigators that he had sexually abused the 3-year old boy. He was placed under arrest and charged with criminal sexual abuse.

Grady was transported to Knox County Jail where he awaits a bond hearing.
