Galesburg High School Honors One of its Own
One organization is bestowing a state award on a Galesburg High School employee. The Illinois Principals Association has named Steve Eisemann, Assistant Principal of the Year in the State of Illinois.

As an Assistant Principal, he says he likes to be able to work on things that have an impact on students throughout the school. He says he's worked hard with special education students and the learner who is struggling, and the advanced placement students, by working to serve their everyday needs.

Eisemann tells WGIL he had no idea he was even considered for the award.

"I was floored. Flabbergasted. I had no idea it was in the works. I'm the kind of person who comes to work everyday, I do my job, and that's what I expect from everybody. I just didn't think I was doing anything special."

He will be honored at the Assistant Principals Conference and has a chance to be named a national winner of the award. He said he was humbled as the award is given to him by his peers.

Eisemann has no special plans as of yet to celebrate the honor - he says he still came home that night, cooked dinner, and did the dishes. Eisemann jokingly said it was just his turn.
