House Will Vote Thursday on Delaying Governor's Budget Address
SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- A plan to delay the governor's annual budget address is now up to the Illinois House.

The House is expected to vote Thursday on whether to move the speech to March 10. If it doesn't, then by law Gov. Pat Quinn will have to present his budget proposal next week.

The Democratic governor wants the extra time to come up with a plan to fix the state's massive budget problems.

He and other supporters of the delay say it will also give the public more time to weigh in. They're soliciting public comments on the Internet.
