UPDATE: Brady, Dillard Both Predict Victory
UPDATED 12:57am 2/3/10 CHICAGO (AP) -- While Illinois Republican governor candidate Bill Brady is confident he can hold onto a slim lead over six opponents, Kirk Dillard predicts he'll win.

Brady, the state senator from Bloomington, had about a 1,400-vote lead over Dillard with not all the votes counted.

Brady says a grass-roots campaign put him in position to win. Dillard counted on his plan to revive Illinois' economy to woo voters.

While Dillard and other candidates slugged it out in the Chicago area, Brady counted on downstate support.

Brady had 153,971 votes, or 20.5 percent of the vote, with 99 percent of precincts counted.

Dillard had 152,491, or 20.3 percent.

Former GOP state chairman Andy McKenna has 142,843, or 19 percent.
