Alzheimer's Association Presents Program Wednesday in Knoxville
The Central Illinois Chapter Alzheimer's Association has developed a new program to address the need for families to adequately prepare for the future entitled, "What the Heck do we do Now? Exploring Care Options."

The program will be held Wednesday, February 24th, from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., at the First Christian Church, 201 S. Broad Street, Knoxville, and is designed to help individuals recognize warning signs that it is time to seek outside help through community resources, such as respite and long term care options.

Included in the training are the seven warning signs that a family needs outside help, a list of the top five questions families should ask a residential care facility, identification of three respite care options and two agencies that provide useful resources when caring for someone with dementia, and an explanation of the differences between Medicare and Medicaid.

The program is open and free to the public and is provided, in part, through funding from Western Illinois Area Agency on Aging. Reservations can be made by calling the Central Illinois Chapter, Peoria, at 309.681.1100 or 800.272.3900.

The Alzheimer's Association provides programs and services to caregivers and those with memory loss problems including family education, 24-hour telephone Helpline, Medic Alert + Safe Return, library, support groups, newsletter, advocacy, patient referral and guidance services. Disease, caregiver and support information can be found by visiting www.alz.org/illinoiscentral.
