Here We Snow Again! WINTER STORM WARNING in Effect
CHICAGO (AP) -- A winter storm is expected to move across the northern tier of Illinois and up to a foot of snow is possible in some areas.

The National Weather Service says the storm is forecast to begin Sunday, with the most affected areas in the north central and northwestern portions of Illinois.

Weather service meteorologist Bill Nelson says the storm should leave the state by Monday evening, but wind gusts of up to 30 mph could cause low visibility in areas due to blowing snow.

In central Illinois, the weather service forecasts 6 to 8 inches of snow near Galesburg and Peoria before the storm ends. Between 1 and 3 inches is forecast for Bloomington and Normal.

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WARNING from Sunday afternoon through Monday evening for the area. Forecasters say in addition to the snow, wind gusts over 30 miles per hour possible causing blowing and drifting snow Monday afternoon.
