Quinn Says He Wins, Hynes Says Hold On
On this day after Election Day, the Democratic primary for governor isn't settled.

State Comptroller Dan Hynes says there are still outstanding votes, so even with a deficit of 7,000 votes, he's not conceding yet. "We are going to continue fighting," he told his supporters Wednesday morning at Carpenters Union headquarters in Chicago.

Gov. Pat Quinn, however, declared victory. "The time for fighting is over," he told his supporters at an Election Night party at a Chicago hotel. "The people have won, and we have won this election!"

The governor acknowledged it was a close election, but he said even a victory by a single vote is a landslide in his book. Hynes is expected to make an announcement Wednesday on what his next step will be, if any.

The winner's opponent in the general election is in doubt, with the Republican primary also being tight.
