Young Professionals of Galesburg Donate to Haiti Relief
Young Professionals of Galesburg, (Y.P.G.), is thanking its members, and the community, for raising funds for those affected by the earthquake in Haiti. Y.P.G. hosted a Haiti Relief Benefit at their monthly First Friday event, Friday, February 5th, and the organization collected donations for Haiti Relief at their Annual Open House on January 28th.

"We are happy to announce that we are donating $400 to the American Red Cross Haiti Relief Fund," says Shannon Jansen, Y.P.G. Communications Chair. "Hosting a fundraiser for Haiti was a suggestion from one of our members and we want to that thank that member and our entire membership, as well as the community, for supporting our efforts."

Y.P.G. presented a check in the amount of $400 to the American Red Cross, which says one hundred percent of the donation will go toward Haiti Relief.

Y.P.G. is an organization of the Galesburg Area Chamber of Commerce, designed as a way for professionals between the ages of 20 and 40 in Knox and Warren Counties to network and learn more about the opportunities available to them locally. The organization hosts monthly events for its members, participates with charitable organizations and has established a scholarship fund for qualifying Gale Scholars.
