GOP Candidates Campaign as Primary Nears
CHICAGO (AP) -- GOP candidates Andy McKenna and Jim Ryan are out making their final pitches for governor.

Both Republicans were at a train station in downtown Chicago on Monday morning to greet commuters one day before the Illinois primary.

Ryan is Illinois' former attorney general, and he continued to criticize McKenna for skipping debates and trying to win the GOP nomination with an expensive TV campaign.

McKenna, however, says his opponents just like to criticize him. McKenna is the former head of the state's Republican Party.

Both Republicans agree on one thing. They say Illinois' troubles are the fault of the Democrats who control the state.
