State Honors GHS Assistant Principal
The Galesburg School Board Monday night will honor an administrator that is being recognized on the state level.

While a lot of the attention at Monday's District-205 board meeting will be about that list of proposed $2 million in cuts in the district's budget, the board will also recognize Galesburg High School Assistant Principal Steven Eisemann, who's been named Assistant Principal of the Year by the Illinois Principals' Association.

District-205 officials say Eisemann was honored at last Tuesday's IPA conference for assistant principals in the Chicago suburbs, and is now the state's nominee for national Assistant Principal of the Year.

That will be named during a convention in Washington in the spring.

Eisemann has been assistant principal at GHS for 20 years, was a dean of students there for six years, and taught science at Churchill Junior High School for six years before that.

The District-205 board Monday night will consider a formal policy regarding how much cash on hand the district must have along with a related policy, and will approve an additional four-percent increase in the medical insurance base rate.

The Galesburg School Board meets at Lincoln School at 7pm Monday.
