School Bans Erotic Dance Style Called 'Grinding'
GENEVA, Ill. (AP) -- A suggestive style of dancing called "grinding" has been banned from dances at a high school in the Chicago suburb of Geneva.

Grinding involves dance partners rubbing against each other in an explicit way. The Kane County Chronicle reports that some Geneva High School students had complained to their principal about it.

That led school officials to write a letter to parents announcing the ban. They described grinding in that letter as ``a sexually explicit, back-to-front style of dancing.''

School officials also asked a disc jockey hired for a Friday night dance not to play songs with a pounding bass line that would encourage grinding.

Principal Tom Rogers says the ban has caused a stir among students and he's encouraged those who disagree with it to talk with him.
