Bridgeway Gets 50 Jobs and Contract with State.
The small percentage of people who skip out on paying to use the state's toll roads is leading to big work for a Galesburg employer.

The state formally announced yesterday that it has partnered with Galesburg's Bridgeway Training Services, and what is now a Rockford-based subsidiary of Bridgeway, to bring 50 jobs to each location scanning the photographed license plates of toll road scofflaws, so they can be tracked down and sent orders to pay what they owe.

Illinois Tollway Executive Director Kristi LaFleur says it was important to have the jobs done locally.

"We really see the tollway as an important not only service provider for those customers that are traveling our roads on a daily basis, but also as an important economic engine for Illinois and the region."

The jobs are coming back to Illinois from a firm in Texas whom officials say essentially created the system that Bridgeway and Rockford's Illinois Growth Enterprises uses now.

The local jobs have salaries based on how many images are scanned. Bridgeway officials say some can make as much as $13 an hour.
