Illinois Man Charged with Tattooing 3 Teenagers
RANTOUL, Ill. (AP) -- A 21-year-old Rantoul man faces possible jail time for tattooing teenage girls in his home.

The (Champaign) News-Gazette reports that Edward Garcia pleaded innocent Thursday to three misdemeanor counts of tattooing the body of a minor.

Prosecutors say Garcia used a homemade tattoo gun. The mother of a 16-year-old girl notified police. The girl told police Garcia also gave tattoos to a 15-year-old girl and a 17-year-old girl.

Rantoul Police Detective Christina Reifsteck says Garcia didn't have a tattoo business and wasn't paid for the tattoos, which the girls requested.

Garcia could spend up to 364 days in jail if convicted. He remains free on his own recognizance and is due back in court March 8.
