Push for Bullet Trains Continues
(IRN)-People who want faster trains in Illinois as soon as possible are calling attention again to high-speed rail.

State Senator Martin Sandoval (D-Cicero) and Midwest High Speed Rail Association executive director Rick Harnisch told a statehouse news conference the goal should be for "bullet trains" to go between Chicago and St Louis in two hours, thus making a full business trip between the two cities possible in one day.

Sandoval complained that a high-speed rail commission he called for in the last legislative session has never been formed, and he pointed out Florida’s governor has recently turned down $2 billion that Illinois could use.
