Former Area Residents Involved in Fatal Arizona Crash
Three former residents of the Monmouth area were involved in a crash over the weekend in Arizona, killing one of them and seriously injuring the other two.

www.abc15.com in Phoenix reports the crash happened Saturday in the Phoenix suburb of Paradise Valley. Police say a four vehicle crash allegedly caused by 46 year old Barry Jordan claimed the life of 11 year old Destiny Kimble, put her 15 year old brother Riley Beckwith in a coma, and caused serious injuries to their mother, Melia Skinner.

The family is believed to have lived in both the Abingdon and Monmouth areas and moved to Phoenix just last Friday to start a new life and be closer to family.

Family friend Austin Allen of Monmouth told www.abc15.com he's saddened by what's happened.

"I don't know,... they were a very nice family and this is kind of a bad thing to happen because, bad things happen to good people I guess."

Another daughter of Skinner's told www.abc15.com she hopes Jordan, who's now in custody after his own hospitalization, is prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Several candlelight vigils have been held for the family in the Phoenix area, and one was reportedly held Sunday in Monmouth. Friends in Abingdon are also organizing a candlelight vigil for 7:30pm Tuesday at the city's baseball diamond.
