Tea Party Activists Protest Indiana Democrat Boycott
URBANA, Ill. (AP) -- About a dozen tea party activists from Illinois protested outside an Urbana, Ill., hotel where Indiana Democrats are staying as the lawmakers block action on contentious bills before the Indiana House.

The protesters who gathered Thursday on a sidewalk outside the hotel said the Democrats were running from tough choices that need to be made in their own state and should go home and do their jobs.

The activists stood several yards away from a group of about 20 people, mostly college students, who said they were at the hotel to support the Democrats.

Urbana police moved the protesters off of hotel property after being called by hotel staff about 11 a.m. CST Thursday.

House Democrats were meeting behind closed doors inside the hotel at the time of the protest.
