Prison Sentence to be Determined for Abingdon Man
An Abingdon man is headed to prison on meth related charges.

Rhyder Gray pleaded guilty Thursday in Knox County Court to a Class X felony charge of Aggravated Participation in Meth Manufacturing.

In June of 2010, Gray was found unconscious in room at the Best Western Prairie Inn along with an active methamphetamine lab.

An employee at hotel smelled an odor coming from the room and alerted the Galesburg Police Department.

Police entered the room after getting no response at the door, and found numerous meth making materials and Gray unconscious on the bed.

The Galesburg Special OPS Unit and the Illinois State Police Meth Response Team were
called in to investigate and dismantle the meth lab after the hotel was evacuated.

Gray will be sentenced April 28. The judge will have total discretion over the sentencing as the guilty plea was made openly and not a negotiated one.

Gray also pleaded guilty to a count of Aggravated DUI in an unrelated matter.
