Chicago Style Pizza Heads to Troops for Super Bowl
ELK GROVE VILLAGE, Ill. (AP) -- A nonprofit organization founded by a northern Illinois family is shipping 7,000 pizzas to U.S. troops for Sunday's Super Bowl.

Pizzas 4 Patriots is in its third year delivering pizza to overseas troops. Elk Grove village resident Mark Evans, a retired Air Force master sergeant, started the organization with his son, Kent.

Uno Chicago Grill is making most of the deep-dish pies and a private label pizza company is providing the rest. DHL is handling the shipping logistics of getting pizzas to Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea and the Philippines.

The pizzas start their journey Tuesday from New York.
Most of the support for the effort comes from local donations. The organization also delivers pizzas to troops on the Fourth of July and Veterans Day.
