The Galesburg Regional Economic Development Association held its annual investor meeting Monday night. President of GREDA Tom Schmidt explains how Galesburg's economy has been affected since early 2002.

"GREDA and the city of Galesburg in pre dating, the unfortunate thing that impacted our community, with the loss of jobs in 2002 and thereafter, I'm proud to tell you that the city leadership and GREDA , and other organizations, we were working on diversifying our economy at that time then along comes a downturn in the economy and it's had a dramatic impact on us."

Schmidt also explained how he was positive that Galesburg could make an economic recovery.

GREDA, Schmidt explained, is in the process of deciding how to try and diversify the local economy with any cooperation of city leadership and other organizations.
