Lovers of Sweets Unite This Weekend
The last quarter century has really shown how much the Galesburg area has a sweet tooth, and the Galesburg Historical Society is again banking on that this year.

The Society is hosting its 26th annual Chocolate Festival tomorrow and Sunday on the third floor of the Galesburg Antiques Mall at Main and Seminary Streets.

Organizer Marj Edlen tells WGIL as the types of things chocolate can be made with increases, so do the types of chocolate items people can sample at the festival.

"There's many ways, and we do have the chocolate fountain, which of course will have the foods ready for everyone to dip into the chocolate," she said. "But we have quite a bit of chocolate covered bacon, which seems to be the talk of the town this year. It is delicious."

Edlen says the chocolate fest has definitely expanded over the years, and which means more room on the third floor for all of it.

Much of the chocolate itself is donated, and Edlen says there's always room for more donated chocolate.

Tickets are available at the door, and the chocolate festival is from 11-4 both Saturday and Sunday.
