City Council and School Board Both Meet Tonight
Two local governmental entities will hold meetings once again Monday night around the same time.

Both the Galesburg City Council and the Galesburg School Board hold meetings Monday evening -- the school board's is their regular monthly meeting, while the city council's is a special work session.

Galesburg aldermen will discuss and prioritize the list of goals they adopted in December, around six months after they were first developed.

The city has promised to update aldermen frequently on the status of their implementation, and the use of work sessions was one of the prime ways to do that.

The Galesbug School Board Monday night will adopt final design plans for renovations planned at Steele Elementary School as part of the first phase of their Master Facilities Plan, and they'll abate bonds that will help pave the way for the district's financing of the first phase.

The School Board will also consider naming a new auditorium planned for Lombard Middle School once its renovated under the plan, after late local radio personality Jack Larson.

The City Council's work session is at 5:30, while the school board meeting is at 7.
