Local Lawmaker Expects Plenty from Budget Address
There's a lot that one Knox County lawmaker wants to hear from Governor Pat Quinn during his annual Budget address.

74th District State Representative Don Moffitt says it's all about money and how to get the state's fiscal house in order.

Moffitt says in addition to finding out how to pay our bills and reducing the budget deficit, that also includes improving the business climate.

"I think if we can have a better business climate, we can grow jobs, attract jobs, and retain jobs," Moffitt said. "And that increases our revenue and improves our budget in Illinois."

Moffitt says he wants to work with the Governor, but he wants to see what he calls "real progress" getting the state's fiscal house in order.

Quinn's office has already suggested that the Governor wants to give more money to education, and close tax loopholes in order to bring in more revenue.

You can hear the entire budget address live Wednesday at noon on WGIL and WGIL-dot-com.
