Knoxville Man Claims Suspected Prostitute Robbed Him
Galesburg Police say a 70-year-old Knoxville man and two others are in jail after a planned sex-for-cash encounter went haywire Sunday night.

Police reports indicate it was arranged for Robert Stancomb to arrive at 50-year-old Ernestine McGee's Galesburg apartment in the 100 block of North Broad Street sometime before 9pm. Police say Stancomb agreed to pay McGee $30-dollars to engage in sexual intercourse.

According to Police, as the two began kissing and undressing each other, 49-year-old Wayne Campbell, of Galesburg, walked in and threatened Stancomb with what he believed was a knife. Police say Stancomb apologized, retrieved his clothes and left.

Records show McGee gave Stancomb his $30-dollars back, but upon inspecting his wallet, he realized he was missing $700-dollars in cash.

Authorities say it was then they were contacted for an alleged theft. They say they arrived at the North Broad Street apartment after 9pm but were unable to locate the suspected stolen cash.

However, police arrested McGee for prostitution, and Campbell for assault and violation of an order of protection, which McGee had against him. Meanwhile, Stancomb was also jailed for soliciting a sexual act.

All three are awaiting court appearances.
