Police Release More Details in Squad Car Accident
The Illinois State Police is releasing more details into an accident late Friday night that involved a pedestrian and a squad car.

State Police in Macomb say the accident occurred around 11:20pm last Friday night on South D Street, just west of 5th Avenue in Monmouth.

Troopers say 32-year old Officer John Hall was southbound responding to a call of a suspicious person when he was attempting to hang up a radio microphone in his car.

They say 36-year old Mark Anthony Roach of Monmouth was walking down the center of the road and was struck by Hall's squad car.

Roach was taken to OSF Holy Family Medical Center in Monmouth with what were described as moderate injuries. His condition now isn't available.

Hall was uninjured. They say alcohol was a factor with Roach, but not with Hall.

NO citations were issued in the incident Monmouth Police and FIre, along with a Galesburg ambulance were called to.

Hall was put on administrative leave pending the outcomes of the State Police investigation, and a Monmouth Police internal investigation.
