Driver Passed Out Before Fatal Henry County Rollover
CAMBRIDGE, Ill. (AP) -- Investigators say the vehicle involved in a rollover crash that killed three teens in west-central Illinois last year was traveling more than 90 mph.

The (Peoria) Journal Star also reported Thursday the surviving passenger told police the driver had passed out just before the crash southeast of Kewanee.

Sheriff's Deputy John Hornback told a Henry County coroner's jury on Wednesday the speed was recorded by the vehicle's crash data recorder.

In the Nov. 29 crash, the vehicle struck a raised driveway, sending it airborne for 114 feet and hurtling it end over end in a farm field.

Three back-seat passengers were thrown from the vehicle and killed. The driver and a front-seat passenger were injured.

Jurors ruled the deaths accidental.

No further explanation of the passing-out reference was offered.
