| Search Continues For Nursing Home Director |
The Knox County Nursing Home Committee Met last night to go over financials and receive updates. The Nursing Home will be losing it's director in a few months and the search has started for a replacement. Kathy Kopsack took over the nursing home when it was considered in poor shape, but recently handed in her letter of resignation. Kopsack says they are beginning to expand their search through various means.
"I called the President of the County Nursing Home Association, we advertised in the Illinois Nursing Home Administrators Association, I did have a gal that was interested - that we had received her app - she was at the nursing home [Tuesday]," says Kopsack.
Eight applications have been received so far for the open post. The opening was initially listed in several journal publications, but has since been put out to a wider range of job search sites. Committee Chair Lyle Johnson says several of the applicants have already been disqualified due to the level of compensation they are expecting.
"We'll get it finalized and set a closing date and then set a time frame to interview the top ones," says Johnson. "We won't interview all of them, I'm sure. [Kopsack] has already given me a couple and one of them wants 90-thousand to start with," says Johnson.
The committee was also updated on an unusual expense regarding workman's compensation. 39-thousand dollars was reported for the period to date. That's considered well above the nursing home's usual workman's comp payments. |
