Library Property to be Considered at City Council Meeting
The Galesburg City Council Monday will hear a first reading on transferring property to the Galesburg Public Library.

Before a first reading can take place, the City will hold a short Public Hearing on the property exchange just before Monday's Council meeting.

The Library hit a snag recently on construction grant funding, but don't expect further problems as the building process moves forward.

Also on Monday's agenda is an ordinance amending the contentious Raufeisen development near the Costa subdivision.

Due to Raufeisen's inability to reach an agreement on the "Stisser" property, Todd Raufeisen - the owner of the company - has requested the City allow his company to develop the land in two phases.

Under the current wording, the company would have to submit a subdivision "plat" for the entire development.

Monday's meeting begins at 6:30pm inside Council chambers at Galesburg City Hall. The public hearing will be held at 6pm.
